Georgia Hopkins was born in Savannah, GA., USA, and having spent over 25 years in Ireland and Europe, is now based in Cork city. A member of the Artists’ Association of Ireland, Georgia has exhibited in Ireland, Europe and the U.S., and her work is represented in private collections nationally and internationally.

 

THE WORK: Light, water and nature are the recurring themes and inspiration points in all of my work, the choice of water-based medium allowing the intensity of colour to co-exist with an ethereal quality of moments caught in time. The intention is that viewing the works is at once a calming and uplifting experience. All of my paintings are imbued with the powerful nature that inspired them, and to spend a while before them is, hopefully, to be drawn to a place both within and beyond the works themselves.
