Artist's Statement
Deirdre Cairns is a stained glass artist living and working in the midlands of Ireland. Her glass art is inspired by her love of all things natural, in particular flora and fauna. She has recently completed an exhibition on the movement, moods and energy of water- calm through to raging.
Deirdre has accumulated many photographic images which she then translates into glass, a medium she feels brings the subject back to life again.
Her use of paint, stain, acid and lead gives great movement, fluency and depth to each piece. |
